Substitute Teacher

Responsibilities:

  • Implement age-appropriate curriculum for young children
  • Support other teachers in daily care and education
  • Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
  • Manage classroom activities and ensure a structured and organized learning environment
  • Provide personal care to children, such as diapering, feedings, and safe sleeping arrangements
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive learning community

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices
  • Experience working with young children is preferred
  • Excellent classroom management skills to create a positive and productive learning environment
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, families, and colleagues

Schedule:

  • The Nest is open Monday through Friday 8am-5pm
  • Substitutes will be contacted on an as-needed basis by full-time teachers who need coverage in the classroom between these hours
  • Substitutes are able to accept or deny hours based on their own schedules

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $15.00 – $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 – 40 per week, based on need and availability
