About The Nest

The Nest Nursery School is a Reggio Emilia-inspired early childhood education center located in Atlanta, Georgia, serving children from 12 weeks through 5 years old. We are a collaborative, community-rooted school that honors children’s innate curiosity and creativity. Our approach values relationships, play, and the co-construction of knowledge among children, teachers, and families.

Position Summary

We are seeking part-time and full-time early childhood educators—including dedicated classroom teachers and versatile floaters—to join our team. Floaters support all age groups across the school, while classroom teachers co-lead learning environments inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach. Ideal candidates will be reflective, organized, collaborative, and passionate about child-led learning.

  • Teaching & Learning:
    Ensure the safety and well-being of children while fostering a respectful, compassionate, and engaging learning environment.  Design and implement an emergent, child-centered curriculum and document children’s learning through notes, photos, and videos to reflect on their thinking and growth.
  • Classroom Environment:
    Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom that encourages exploration and creativity. Intentionally manage materials to be accessible, purposeful, and support both child-initiated and teacher-planned experiences.
  • Family Communication: Build strong partnerships with families through regular updates, discussions, and documentation of children’s learning journey
  • Professional Responsibilities:
    Adhere to state licensing requirements and The Nest’s policies. Engage in ongoing professional development and collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices.

Qualifications

Required for Classroom Teacher:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum 18 years of age.

  • Prior experience working with young children.

Preferred for Lead Classroom Teacher:

  • Associate’s Degree, CDA, or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.

  • Bachelor’s Degree (in any field) combined with relevant teaching experience.

  • Demonstrated leadership, curriculum planning, and team collaboration skills.

  • Commitment to furthering your education and professional growth.
