Registration for the Current School Year
The school is currently at full enrollment and maintains a wait list for all classes. Any spots that become available during the year will be filled from the wait list. Families wishing to place their name on the wait list should fill out the The Nest Waitlist Application and return it to the school along with a $25 application fee either in person or by mail to the school’s address (1040 Grant St SE, Suite 600, Atlanta GA 30315).
Registration for the 2016-17 School Year
Registration for the 2016-17 school year begins on January 25, 2016. After the re-enrollment of in-house families is completed, available spots will be filled from the wait list. If spaces remain after the wait list has been exhausted, enrollment applications will be accepted on a first come, first served basis on February 8, 2016 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. The non-refundable Registration Fee ($300) must be paid at the time of registration in order to secure a spot for the upcoming fall. The first day of the 2016-17 school year should correspond with the Atlanta Public Schools calendar (August 3rd). Because we will be relocating and expanding for the 2016-2017 school year, this August 3rd start date is tentative in the case that there may be unanticipated construction delays.
The wait list carries over from year to year, so there is no need to reapply if your child is not enrolled during the current school year. To place your family on the wait list please fill out the Wait List Application and return it along with the $25 application fee either in person or via mail at the school’s address (797 Moreland Ave., Atlanta, GA 30316).
Visiting The Nest
In response to requests for tours, we have developed a “system” to reflect the reality of our small physical space as well as our respect for the children and educators that live in the space from day to day. For these reasons, our policy is not to give general tours during the school day. Open house tours for prospective families will be held on weekends and after hours (see schedule below) and staff will be on hand to answer questions and speak with families about their needs and specifics of our school community. If a spot becomes available and a family would like to see the school “in action” before officially enrolling we will be happy to make arrangements for an individual visit.
The open house tours during the 2016-17 school year are scheduled as follows (typically, but not always, on the 3rd Tuesday of each month):
- September 20 2016, 10:00-11:00am
- October 18, 2016, 10:00-11:00 am
- November 15, 2016, 10:00-11:00am
- January 7, 2017 [Saturday], 9:00-10:00am — please note this tour was originally scheduled for January 21st, and has been rescheduled
- January 17, 2017, 10:00-11:00am
- February 21, 2017, 10:00-11:00am
- March 21, 2017, 10:00-11:00am
- April 25, 2017, 10:00-11:00am
- May 16, 2017, 10:00-11:00am
PLEASE NOTE: Registration for the tour is not necessary but we do ask that participants arrive promptly at the time the tour begins.
We look forward to meeting you!
General Admissions Policies
The school year generally runs from the first week in August through the next-to-the-last week of July. Spaces that become available during the school year will filled from the wait list. If no wait list exits, the school will advertise open spaces through Facebook, newsletters and on its website. The school will have advance registration for the following school year in January/February of each year.
The Nest Nursery School seeks to serve those family needing full-time care and priority will be given to those families. Currently enrolled children and their siblings will have first priority for available spots for the following school year. All schedules, fees and tuition are based on full-day care. The school does not offer a half-day or part-time program.
All families must sign an acknowledgment form, which will outline their responsibilities to the school and the school’s responsibilities to the family. All admission and enrollment forms must be completed and accounts must be current prior to your child’s first day of attendance and/or the first day of the new school year.
The school retains the right to make decisions regarding enrollment and classroom makeup and placement based on the needs of individual children and/or the larger school community.
Upon enrollment to The Nest Nursery School it is the responsibility of the parents to keep the school informed of any changes in personal information, including but not limited to, phone numbers, email addresses, residential addresses and place of employment.
